Master Parm Rai started Taekwon-Do in 1979 under Master Lee Sukhi. He received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1981.
He has attended many tournaments as a competitor winning numerous times including the Canadian Nationals and Pan-Am Championships.
Master.Rai also represented the Canadian Taekwon-Do team in 1990 where the team won a gold medal in Scotland.
Master Rai is an International Instructor and International Class ‘A’ umpire under the International Taekwon-Do Federation.
Master Rai has an extensive law enforcement background with experience in anti-bullying programs
Master. Rai has also attended many International Instructor’s courses conducted by the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi.and his son, Grandmaster Choi Jung Hwa.
Master Rai has also coached the Canadian National Taekwon-Do team at 4 different World Championships.
In 2000, Master Rai accompanied Gen. Choi to France where he was the General’s assistant.
Master Rai has attended many I.T.F. World Championships as Chief umpire for Canada and as special assistant to the President of the I.T.F; Master Choi Jung Hwa.
Master Rai was presented a 5 year volunteer award from the Canadian Ministry of Citizenship for his countless hours of volunteer work in his community.
Master Rai is currently a 8th Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-Do and Special Assistant to the President of the I.T.F. He is also the chairman of the ITF technical comittee.
Master Rai has held positions in the International Taekwon-Do federation in the past including, Treasurer and membership committee chairman.
Master Rai continues to travel with Pres. Choi as his assistant to many countries around the world in assisting various seminars.
Master Rai has travelled to over 35 countries teaching and instructing instructors and students of the International Taekwon-Do Federation.
Master Rai is dedicated to teaching and providing his students the best training both physically and mentally.
